Welcome to Cornerstones Centre for the Community at Chester-le-Street Methodist Church
Cornerstones centre is part of the Methodist Church in Chester le Street and was opened in September 2010 after a two year build programme costing around £1m funded by a combination of grants and local fund raising. Cornerstones represents a permanent commitment by the whole Church to reach out and become more involved in the life of the community in Chester le Street and for the community to share in the broader life of the Church.
Since its opening many new community based activities have been introduced to supplement the activities run by the Church groups. These include the creative craft club, IT training, fitness activities and a range of dance activities from ballroom to Zumba - check out the Activity page for something to that matches your interest.
All rooms are Wi Fi enabled rooms, the building offers full disabled access and the varied room size some with kitchen facilities combine to make the centre an attractive venue for business users wanting to arrange a conference or just looking for a meeting place. For the same reasons the centre is equally attractive for the private user and is proving popular for childrens parties and family social gatherings.
